Dear Esteemed Members, Colleagues and Partners of the Surgical Community,
It is with profound honor and sense of pride that I extend my warmest wishes for the new Ethiopian year, both personally and on behalf of the Executive Committee and our dedicated Subcommittees.
The new year offers us a wonderful opportunity to reflect on our journey and look forward to the vital work ahead. Following the momentum of our 30th AGM, the Surgical Society has embraced a proactive path toward modern, decentralized leadership. We have achieved significant milestones in restructuring our society, advancing surgical education, and accelerating digital transformation. Furthermore, a major administrative shift is currently underway to acquire a permanent SSE National Surgical Training and Leadership Center, a cornerstone project that will sustainably improve how we serve our community and shape future generation of Surgeons.
Our mission to promote academic excellence, refine clinical skills, and deliver safe surgical care across Ethiopia relies entirely on your dedication. To fully realize this vision, I respectfully call upon every member and the wider surgical community to actively engage with our ongoing initiatives and regional offices. Your vibrant participation, whether through mentoring, local research, adopting educational technologies, making financial contributions, or volunteering in chapter activities is the absolute foundation of the SSE’s success.
As we embark on this new Ethiopian year, I extend my heartfelt wishes to you, your families and your institutions. May the year ahead bring you all abundant health, peace and professional fulfillment.
Together, let us continue to elevate the standards of surgical care and education in our nation.
Wishing you all a prosperous and impactful New Year!
Dr. Mensur Osman
President, SSE
